NEURIL "Ampoule"


Each ampoule of 2 ml contains:            
Diazepam                           10 mg   

Indication & Usage:
Neuril injection is indicated for the management of anxiety disorders, tension, acute alcohol withdrawal and relief of acute agitation, tremor and hallucinosis.
Neuril is a useful adjunct therapy in skeletal muscle spasm.
Neuril injection is a useful adjunct in status epilepticus and severe recurrent convulsive seizures.

Neuril is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diazepam and in acute narrow angle glaucoma.

Side Effects:

Side effects most commonly reported are:
Drowsiness, fatigue and ataxia. Infrequently headache, hypotension and vertigo may occur.

Warnings & Precautions:
- The solution should be injected slowly, do not use small veins.
- Neuril should not be administered to patients in coma or shock.
- Diazepam is not recommended for infants under 6 months of age.
- Patients receiving Neuril should be cautioned against operating machinary or driving a motor vehicle .


An increased risk of congenital malformations may be associated with the use of Neuril during the first trimester.

Dosage and Administration:-  
Adults: 2 mg to 20 mg IM, or IV depending on the condition and its severity.
IM use: Neuril ampoule should be injected deeply into the muscle.
IV use: the solution should be injected slowly.
