Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Sector Enterprises, held an extensive meeting with the heads of companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals. The minister emphasized that the state gives special attention to the pharmaceutical industry, considering it a strategic sector linked to citizens' health and drug security. He explained that the ministry supports the expansion of pharmaceutical industries and the localization of the production of raw materials and biological preparations to achieve self-sufficiency. He pointed out that the development of companies occurs through updating production lines, adding new lines, and restructuring the portfolio of preparations. The minister stressed the importance of adhering to quality standards, enhancing research and development, and promoting innovation at various stages of production. He affirmed the significance of integration among holding companies to enhance the regional and international standing of the Egyptian pharmaceutical industry. He noted that ongoing projects represent a qualitative leap by introducing advanced technologies for the first time in national factories. He highlighted the importance of investment partnerships with the private sector and transferring modern technology, especially in active raw materials. These efforts aim to strengthen the sector's competitiveness and ensure the availability of high-quality medicines at reasonable prices.
