PHARMACEUTICAL FORM: Clear colorless Solution in vial for IV, IM & SC injection free from pyrogen. PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION: Pharmacotherapeutic class: Parasympathomimetic anticholinesterase Cholinesterase inhibitor effect, neostigmine prolongs and increases the muscarinic and nicotinic effects of acetylcholine: • increases the intensity and rate of contractions of smooth muscle fibers (peristaltigenic action); • normalizes the force of contractions of the striated muscles (antimyasthenic action) by promoting the transmission of the nerve impulse; • antagonizes the neuromuscular block of non-depolarizing curares. PHARMACOKINETICS: In case of IV administration, the half-life is approximately 1 hour. The metabolism is mainly hepatic (glycuroconjugation). Elimination is mainly renal. INDICATIONS: • Myasthenia gravis. • Neostigmine test for the diagnosis of myasthenia gravis. • Post-operative dececurarization (after curarization by non-depolarizing curares). DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Myasthenia gravis For Subcutaneous or intramuscular injection. 1 mg to 2.5 mg per day, divided into 4 to 6 administrations. Pediatric 0.04 mg / kg / injection.
